Raleigh Road Baptist Church began as a mission church on October 25, 1987 when seven families (a total of 21 adults and children) voted to form Antioch Baptist Mission.  Reverend Eddie Maynard was called as pastor and served in that capacity as Senior Pastor until 2008.  The first Sunday School and worship service was held on November 29 in the library at Greenfield School.  As the mission grew, more classrooms and a larger corporate worship area were needed.  A year later, in November 1988, worship services were moved to the school  gymnasium.

In May 1988, the congregation voted to purchase a 10 acre tract of land to build a church facility.  During the summer of 1989, the mission constituted as a new Southern Baptist Church and adopted the permanent name of Raleigh Road Baptist Church.  Also that summer, volunteer carpenters from Old First Orange Baptist Church in Texas helped frame the first part of the church that is now the youth and children’s wing.  Once again we out grew our space and  built our present worship center, kitchen, nursery and classrooms.  Many of the same volunteer carpenters from Old First Orange Baptist in Texas came to help frame this phase of our building in 2006.

In May 2009, Dr Rob Pochek led us as Senior Pastor until March 2016.

Our current Senior Pastor, Tyler Campbell, began serving Raleigh Road in February of 2017.

Our church has always had an emphasis on missions—serving not only in our own community with Back Yard Bible Clubs and bringing church to an apartment complex across town.  We have also had family and youth oriented mission trips to help churches across several states (AR, GA, WV, VT, KY, TN, SC, and LA).  Mission trips abroad have taken church members to Ukraine, Philippines, Jamaica, Honduras, and Uganda as we share Jesus across the  ocean.  Several missionaries have come from our congregation and now serve overseas sharing Jesus in Southern Asia, East Asia, and West Africa as well as serving youth in Louisiana and North Carolina.

We have always been a church not afraid to be different in order to reach others for Christ.  We partner with a Spanish speaking church, Casa De Dios, who utilizes our building and allows more people to come into God’s kingdom.

God continues to do amazing things at Raleigh Road Baptist Church and we look forward to seeing how God will continue to use us to reach more for His kingdom.  We pray that we will always be the church God has called us to be.
